Made here means something
Why the CCW store is built the slow way, what “American-made” actually has to mean before we print it on anything, and who gets paid when you buy a shirt.
It would be easier to run this store the other way. Pick a catalogue, upload a logo, let somebody else print and ship it, and never once meet the person who made the thing you are selling.
I am not doing that, and the reason is not romantic. It is that the words on the label have to be true. If a shirt says it was made in the United States, I want to be able to name the shop that cut it.
That is why you will not see an American-made badge on every product here. It goes on the items where the sourcing has been confirmed, and nowhere else. A blanket claim is just marketing, and marketing that is not true is worth less than saying nothing.
The trade-off is real. It is slower, the margins are thinner, and some products take months longer to arrive. I would rather explain a delay than explain a label.
